Relapsing–Remitting Multiple Sclerosis Is Associated With a Dysbiotic Oral Microbiome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by inflammation, demyelination, and neurological impairment. While the gut microbiota's role in MS is extensively studied, the association between the oral microbiota and MS remains underexplored, particularly in North American cohorts.

RRP9 Promotes Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression through E2F1 Transcriptional Regulation of CDK1

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The study reveals that RRP9 is abnormally highly expressed in ESCC tissues and is closely associated with poor prognosis in patients. Furthermore, it is found that RRP9 promotes ESCC progression through enhancing the E2F1‐mediated transcriptional regulation of CDK1.

Bacterial Community Reconstruction Using A Single Sequencing Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Bacteria are the unseen majority on our planet, with millions of species and comprising most of the living protoplasm. While current methods enable in-depth study of a small number of communities, a simple tool for breadth studies of bacterial population

Increased variability of microbial communities in restored salt marshes nearly 30 years after tidal flow restoration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We analyzed microbial diversity and community composition from four salt marsh sites that were impounded for 40–50 years and subsequently restored and four unimpounded sites in southeastern Connecticut over one growing season.

Comparative Mito-Genomic Analysis of Different Species of Genus Canis by Using Different Bioinformatics Tools

open access: yesJournal of Bioresource Management, 2019
In the current study, the mitochondrial genes sequence for COI, Cyt b and 16s rRNA of seven species found in different parts of the world were retrieved from NCBI Gene Bank while, PCR products of COI, Cyt b and 16s rRNA genes obtained from C. lupus and C.

Sequencing of 16S rRNA Gene: A Rapid Tool for Identification of Bacillus anthracis

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2002
In a bioterrorism event, a tool is needed to rapidly differentiate Bacillus anthracis from other closely related spore-forming Bacillus species. During the recent outbreak of bioterrorism-associated anthrax, we sequenced the 16S rRNA generom these ...

Microneedle‐Based Biofertilizer Delivery Improves Plant Growth Through Microbiome Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This figure shows how microneedles are used to deliver biofertilizers to enhance plant growth through microbial migration, metabolic reprogramming, and changes in plant endogenous microbiome. Abstract This study presents a microneedle‐based system for the delivery of rhizospheric biofertilizers into plant tissues to enhance growth.

Cutibacterium acnes (Propionibacterium acnes) 16S rRNA Genotyping of Microbial Samples from Possessions Contributes to Owner Identification

open access: yesmSystems, 2019
The human skin surface harbors huge numbers of microbes. The skin microbiota interacts with its host and forms a skin microbiome profile that is specific for each individual.
