Optimization of carbon and energy utilization through differential translational efficiency. [PDF]
Control of translation is vital to all species. Here we employ a multi-omics approach to decipher condition-dependent translational regulation in the model acetogen Clostridium ljungdahlii.

This study investigated multidrug resistance in Gram‐negative bacteria from chicken and pork meat in Kathmandu, isolating 136 strains from 13 samples. Nearly half were multidrug resistant, highlighting contaminated meat as a potential route for zoonotic transmission and the need for antimicrobial resistance monitoring in Nepal.

2,3-butanediol in experimental myocardial ischaemia in pigs [PDF]
To investigate the role of 2,3-butanediol in myocardial ischaemia we analysed this compound in pig's myocardium and blood. Ischaemia was induced by ligation of a coronary artery. In the first study we found significantly higher levels of 2,3-butanediol in the homogenate of ischaemic myocardium than in non-ischaemic myocardium. The lactate concentration

Multi‐Solvent Suppression Ultrafast 2D COSY for High‐Throughput Wine Screening
An interleaved ultrafast COSY with multi‐solvent suppression was developed for wine analysis to overcome limitations often associated with 1D 1H NMR (signal overlap) and conventional 2D NMR (long acquisition times) methods. Within an acquisition time of ~20 min, it revealed hidden metabolite peaks and cross peaks for improved annotation and ...

Separating 2,3-butanediol from fermentation broth using n-butylaldehyde
In this paper, a complete separation process for 2,3-butanediol fermentation broth has been developed using reactive-extraction and reactive-distillation. n-Butylaldehyde can be used as both reactant and extractant in the process.

Cyanobacterial conversion of carbon dioxide to 2,3-butanediol [PDF]
Conversion of CO 2 for the synthesis of chemicals by photosynthetic organisms is an attractive target for establishing independence from fossil reserves. However, synthetic pathway construction in cyanobacteria is still in its infancy compared with model fermentative organisms. Here we systematically developed the 2,
