Agent Orange Causes Metabolic Dysfunction and Molecular Pathology Reminiscent of Alzheimer’s Disease [PDF]
Background: Agent Orange, an herbicide used during the Vietnam War, contains 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T).

Magnetic Nanocomposites of Coated Ferrites/MOF as Pesticide Adsorbents [PDF]
Magnetic metal–organic frameworks (MMOFs) are gaining increased attention as emerging adsorbents/water remediation agents. Herein, a facile development of novel MMOFs comprised of coated ferrite nanoparticles (MNPs) and UiO-66 metal–organic framework is ...

Degradation of 2,4,5-Trichlorophenoxyacetic Acid in Woody Plants [PDF]
Woody plants were sprayed with an aqueous homogenate of the n-butyl ester of 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Leaf extracts were studied by gas-liquid chromatography, and 2,4,5-trichlorophenol was always present. The formation of 2,4,5-trichloroanisole apparently did not occur.

Metabolism of Halophenols by 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid-degrading Pseudomonas cepacia [PDF]
Resting cells of 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid-grown Pseudomonas cepacia AC1100 were able to completely and rapidly dechlorinate several chlorine-substituted phenols, including 2,4,5-trichlorophenol, 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol, and pentachlorophenol. Several other trichlorophenols were only partially dechlorinated.

Simultaneous recovery of metals and degradation of organic species: Copper and 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) [PDF]
In mixed wastewater streams, the presence of metal ions can retard the destruction of organic contaminants and the efficiency of recovery of the metal is reduced by the presence of organic species.
