Plants were obtained from cultured in vitro leaves of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ram. cv. Bronze Bornholm. The leaves were inoculated on Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) supplemented with cytokinins (kinetin - KIN, zeatin - ZEA, 6-benzyloaminopurine - BAP ...

The tasiR‐ARF pathway in plants: origin, functions, and interplay of miR‐390, tasiRNAs and ARF3
Trans‐acting small interfering RNAs that silence a subset of Auxin Response Factors are crucial for plant growth, developmental timing, proper organ patterning, and coping with stress. Abstract Trans‐acting small interfering RNA (tasiRNAs) are a special type of endogenous small RNAs (sRNAs) found only in plants.

OsAux1 is required for nutritropism in rice roots
SUMMARY Nutritropism is a directional root growth response to nutrient gradients, and rice (Oryza sativa L.) roots show nutritropism toward sources containing ammonium. Here, we report characterization of an EMS‐mutagenized rice plant that shows a complete defect in nutritropism.

ABSTRACT Early‐stage herbicide discovery often relies on glasshouse assays that can take extended time periods before effects are detected, a limitation that is especially problematic for woody weeds. These pipelines also demand large quantities of candidate compounds at field‐equivalent rates, which are rarely available during early discovery.

Acute 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid intoxication in broiler chicks
The acute toxicity of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), a herbicide, was studied in chicks dosed with 100, 300, 500, or 600 mg 2,4-D/kg BW, by the oral route. Clinical, laboratory, and histopathological methods were used as indicators of toxicity. After acute exposure, the herbicide decreased motor activity and induced muscular weakness and motor

ABSTRACT The analysis of interactions between biological agents or with surrounding chemicals is important in many areas of modern biochemical, biomedical, and environmental research. Microscale platforms based on affinity chromatography have been shown to be a powerful set of tools for these studies.

Lemon storage: Pre-storage treatment reduces black buttons, decay, delays fruit aging
The keeping quality of lemons—during and after storage—can be improved by pre-storage treatment with the growth regulators 2,4-D—2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid—or 2,4,5-T—2,4,5-tricholophenoxyacetic acid.

Summary Exogenously applied auxins are essential for establishing cell lines in tissue cultures and maintaining their proliferation. Cell lines may develop the ability to proliferate even in media lacking auxin, they may become auxin‐habituated. This study investigated the mechanisms underlying this process.

The pH‐sensitive His6‐SWNTs, which is functionalized with oligohistidine, can deliver STTM396 molecules into callus cells. The STTM396–SWNT complex treatments enhance shoot regeneration efficiency by regulating the miR396‐GRF module in Arabidopsis and tomato calli.
