Inner derivations and weak-2-local derivations on the C$^*$-algebra $C_0(L,A)$

open access: yes, 2016
Let $L$ be a locally compact Hausdorff space. Suppose $A$ is a C$^*$-algebra with the property that every weak-2-local derivation on $A$ is a {\rm(}linear{\rm)} derivation. We prove that every weak-2-local derivation on $C_0(L,A)$ is a {\rm(}linear{\rm)} derivation.

A Local Phase-Field Framework for Spin Entanglement Correlations

open access: yesQuantum Reports
We introduce a local phase-field framework for spin-entanglement correlations. In this framework, the relevant hidden variable is an internal scalar phase associated with each fermion and derived from two underlying real fields. The fields are assumed to

Interannual modulation of seasonal glacial velocity variations in the Eastern Karakoram detected by ALOS-1/2 data

open access: yesJournal of Glaciology, 2018
Unlike in most other regions, Karakoram glaciers are either stable or advancing, a phenomenon known as the Karakoram anomaly. Despite studies of glacier surges and the derivation of surface velocity maps, the spatiotemporal variability of glacier ...

The nonlinear bending-torsion theory for curved rods as Gamma-limit of three-dimensional elasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The problem of the rigorous derivation of one-dimensional models for nonlinearly elastic curved beams is studied in a variational setting. Considering different scalings of the three-dimensional energy and passing to the limit as the diameter of the beam

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Exact Holography and Black Hole Entropy in N = 8 $$ \mathcal{N}=8 $$ and N = 4 $$ \mathcal{N}=4 $$ String Theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We compute the exact entropy of one-eighth and one-quarter BPS black holes in N = 8 $$ \mathcal{N}=8 $$ and N = 4 $$ \mathcal{N}=4 $$ string theory respectively.

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Derivations and 2-local derivations on matrix algebras over commutative algebras

open access: yes, 2016
We characterize derivations and 2-local derivations from $M_{n}(\mathcal{A})$ into $M_{n}(\mathcal{M})$, $n \ge 2$, where $\mathcal{A}$ is a unital algebra over $\mathbb{C}$ and $\mathcal{M}$ is a unital $\mathcal{A}$-bimodule. We show that every derivation $D: M_{n}(\mathcal{A}) \to M_{n}(\mathcal{M})$, $n \ge 2,$ is the sum of an inner derivation and

Identifying Cases of Type 2 Diabetes in Heterogeneous Data Sources: Strategy from the EMIF Project.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Due to the heterogeneity of existing European sources of observational healthcare data, data source-tailored choices are needed to execute multi-data source, multi-national epidemiological studies. This makes transparent documentation paramount.
