DONALDSON–THOMAS INVARIANTS OF LOCAL ELLIPTIC SURFACES VIA THE TOPOLOGICAL VERTEX

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2019
We compute the Donaldson–Thomas invariants of a local elliptic surface with section. We introduce a new computational technique which is a mixture of motivic and toric methods. This allows us to write the partition function for the invariants in terms of

Local and 2-local derivations on filiform associative algebras

open access: yes, 2023
This paper is devoted to the study of local and 2-local derivations of nullfiliform, filiform and naturally graded quasi-filiform associative algebras. We prove that these algebras as a rule admit local derivations which are not derivations. We show that

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Weak 2-local derivations on $\mathbb{M}_n$

open access: yes, 2015
We introduce the notion of weak-2-local derivation (respectively, $^*$-derivation) on a C$^*$-algebra $A$ as a (non-necessarily linear) map $Δ: A\to A$ satisfying that for every $a,b\in A$ and $ϕ\in A^*$ there exists a derivation (respectively, a $^*$-derivation) $D_{a,b,ϕ}: A\to A$, depending on $a$, $b$ and $ϕ$, such that $ϕΔ(a) = ϕD_{a,b,ϕ} (a)$ and

Local and 2-Local Derivations and Automorphisms on Simple Leibniz Algebras [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society, 2019
The present paper is devoted to local and 2-local derivations and automorphism of complex finite-dimensional simple Leibniz algebras. We prove that all local derivations and 2-local derivations on a finite-dimensional complex simple Leibniz algebra are automatically derivations.

Local and 2-local derivations of the octonion algebra

open access: yes, 2023
In the present paper, we prove that a local derivation on the octonion (Cayley) algebra $\mathbb{O}$ over an arbitrary field, satisfying some conditions is a derivation, and every 2-local derivation on $\mathbb{O}$ is a Jordan derivation.Comment: We ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Assessment of the Effectiveness of Sand-Control and Desertification in the Mu Us Desert, China

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
The first successful sand-control was achieved in the Mu Us Desert by local people in the 1950–1960s, and their experience and approach have been extended to the whole Ordos and Northern China since then.
