The Analysis and Crystallographic Characterization of 20-Hydroxyecdysone.

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2000
20-Hydroxyecdysone (20E) is an insect molting hormone that is also widely spread in various plants. Many chromatographic methods can be used to identify and/or determine 20E content in samples of biological origin and various spectroscopic methods serve to identify its structural elements.

Stimulation of polydnavirus replication by 20-hydroxyecdysone

Experientia, 1992
During oviposition the endoparasitic wasp Campoletis sonorensis, introduces a polydnavirus into parasitized insects where viral gene expression is required for endoparasite survival. The polydnavirus is integrated into wasp chromosomal DNA and replicates only in the ovary.

Transformation of 20-hydroxyecdysone to inokosterone

Mendeleev Communications, 2006
Δ24/Δ25-Derivatives of 20-hydroxyecdysone were hydroborated by sodium borohydride in the presence of CuCl followed by oxidation of organoboron intermediate and deblocking of hydroxyl groups to synthesise the zoo-and phytoecdysteroid inokosterone.

The role of 20-hydroxyecdysone on the control of spider vitellogenesis

General and Comparative Endocrinology, 2003
We investigated the role of 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) on the ovarian maturation and protein levels and pattern in adult females of the spider Tegenaria atrica. In unmated females, the ovaries did not initiate vitellogenesis and levels of proteins in the hemolymph and ovaries were low.
