The instability of 2D electron gas at high density

The edge-energy of a 2D electron gas with high density is calculated, where the edge-energy implies the energy which is needed to form a unit length of a new edge when a 2D infinite homogeneous electron sheet is cleft into two pieces of semi-infinite sheets. It is found that, when rs < 0.415, the edge-energy becomes negative.

Ultrafast Coherent Electron Spin Flip in a 2D Electron Gas

Spin Stripes of the 2D Electron Gas in a Periodic Hyperfine Field

A novel periodic spin structure induced in a two-dimensional electron gas by a periodic hyperfine field is proposed and theoretically studied. The periodic nuclear magnetization is created, via the hyperfine electron−nuclear spin interaction, by the light induced periodic electron spin grating.

Inter-subband scattering in a 2D electron gas

A new technique, using the absolute amplitude of the low-field Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations, is presented which allows the direct measurement of inter-subband scattering in 2D heterojunction structures. When applied to a heterojunction with two subbands occupied the technique is used to show that inter-subband scattering is independent of temperature
