Structure determination of Cyclic Peptides of the Nocardamine class from a marine-derived bacterium of the genus Streptomyces

open access: yes, 2005
Actinomycetes have been the most significant source for compounds with biological activity and clinical usefulness. In an effort to search for novel marine natural products, we have collected more than 3,000 strains of actinomycetes from marine ...

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Solving problems with NMR spectroscopy /

open access: yes, 1996
Solving Problems with NMR Spectroscopy presents the basic principles and applications of NMR spectroscopy with only as much math as is necessary. It shows how to solve chemical structures with NMR by giving clear examples and solutions.

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Application of NMR Logging in the Evaluation of Gulong Shale Oil

open access: yesCejing jishu
Gulong shale oil reservoir has a high clay content, complex pore structure, and developed micro-nano pore throats and micro fractures. It is difficult to evaluate the characterization of reservoir pore structure, physical properties, and oil content ...

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

Structural characterization of C-13-enriched humins and alkali-treated C-13 humins by 2D solid-state NMR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Humin by-products are formed during the acid-catalyzed dehydration of carbohydrates to bio-based platform molecules, such as hydroxymethylfurfural and levulinic acid. The molecular structure of these humins has not yet been unequivocally established.

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This
