Hyuganatsu is a self-incompatible Citrus species with no parthenocarpic traits. Pollinizer requirements and seedy fruit production are therefore a limiting factor for Hyuganatsu growers. ‘Nishiuchi Konatsu’, a bud mutation of Hyuganatsu, can set fruit by self-pollination and aborts most seeds.

Convergence of the cascade algorithm at irregular scaling functions
The spectral properties of the Ruelle transfer operator which arises from a given polynomial wavelet filter are related to the convergence question for the cascade algorithm for approximation of the corresponding wavelet scaling function.Comment: AMS ...

ABSTRACT Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata [L.] Walp.) is a drought‐resilient and protein‐rich legume of major importance in arid and semiarid regions, including Eswatini, where it contributes to food, feed, and nutritional security. The objective of this study was to assess the genetic diversity and relationships among 30 cowpea genotypes, comprising 24 ...

Leaf transcriptome differences between diploid and tetraploid bahiagrass
Abstract Polyploid individuals of the subtropical forage grass Paspalum notatum Flüggé (bahiagrass) exhibit distinct phenotypes, including apomixis, enhanced vigor, gigas effects, and increased stress tolerance. While apomixis‐based breeding programs supported by molecular tools have improved agronomic traits such as growth habit, forage dry matter ...

Harnessing genomic resources for passion fruit improvement: Progress and prospects
Abstract Passion fruit (Passiflora edulis) is a highly nutritious horticultural crop cultivated widely across tropical and subtropical regions. Despite decades of breeding efforts that have led to the release of a few high‐yielding cultivars, on‐farm productivity remains suboptimal, and several existing cultivars are showing signs of declining vigor ...

Can ploidy levels explain the variation of Herbertia lahue (Iridaceae)? [PDF]
Polyploidy is often related with phenotypic variation, as observed in Herbertia lahue, a geophyte species. This study examined the H. lahue polyploid series and departure in cytogenetic, morphometric, and pollen data.

Genomic life‐history traits such as ploidy clearly shape gradual and orthogonal grassland plant community compositional responses to both habitat loss and nutrient pollution, that is, two main drivers of extinction. Our study thus introduces a predictive, genomic trait‐based framework for assessing local extinction risks in landscapes characterized by ...
