Catastrophic chromosomal restructuring during genome elimination in plants. [PDF]
Genome instability is associated with mitotic errors and cancer. This phenomenon can lead to deleterious rearrangements, but also genetic novelty, and many questions regarding its genesis, fate and evolutionary role remain unanswered.

ABSTRACT Mango (Mangifera indica) is one of the most popular fruits cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The availability of reference genomes helps to identify the genetic basis of important traits. Here, we report assembled high‐quality chromosome‐level genomes for the Australian mango cultivar ‘Kensington Pride’ and M ...

ABSTRACT Clubroot, a severe soil‐borne disease caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, poses a severe threat to global production of Brassicaceae oilseed crops and vegetables. To date, there has been a serious lack of clubroot‐resistant germplasms in Brassica napus (AACC), necessitating the urgent development of novel disease‐resistant germplasm.

ABSTRACT Natural antisense transcripts (NATs) correspond to nearly 60% of annotated rice loci, however their functions are largely unknown. In this study, we characterise a rice cis‐NAT (NAT1850) that completely overlaps with a rice‐specific primary miRNA, pri‐miR1850.

Limonium carvalhoi (Plumbaginaceae), a new endemic species from the Balearic Islands
Limonium carvalhoi Rosselló & L. Sáez is described from a single salt marsh locality in southwest Majorca. Morphologically, L. carvalhoi is close to L. inexpectans, L. migjornense and L. magallufianum, all Balearic endemics.

ABSTRACT Global food demand is predicted to rise anywhere from 59% to 98% by 2050 because of increasing population. However, the continued depletion of natural resources and increasing biotic and abiotic stresses will continue to pose significant threats to global food security in coming years.

Cytogenetics of Hypericum caprifoliatum Cham. & Schltdl. (Clusiaceae) populations and other species of the genus [PDF]
Chromosome numbers and meiotic behavior are presented for the first time for Hypericum caprifoliatum(2n=48), H. cf carinatum (2n=48) and H. polyanthemum (2n= 32) and confirmed the H. perforatum (2n=32) number.Chromosomes are very small (ca.
