Conversion of 1,3-Butanediol or Acetaldol to β-Hydroxybutyric Acid in Chicks

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1973
Enzymic oxidizing system of 1,3-butanediol in chicks was studied in comparison with that in rats. 1,3-Butanediol was oxidized with NAD+ as a cofactor in the cytosol fraction of chick liver, kidney, and rat liver. NADP+ was about 40% as effective as NAD+ in chick liver, kidney, whereas the former was ineffective in rat liver.

From hydrogels to eutectogels: Emerging platforms for stretchable electronics

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
The transition of wearable electronics toward long‐term reliability requires materials that resist dehydration without sacrificing tissue‐like softness and ionic conductivity. Eutectogels fulfill these demands by immobilizing deep eutectic solvents within tailored polymer networks.

Preparation and Properties of DMF-Based Polyurethanes for Wet-Type Polyurethane Artificial Leather

open access: yesInternational Journal of Polymer Science, 2018
DMF-based polyurethanes for wet-type polyurethane artificial leather were prepared using 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) as diisocyanate, 1,4-butanediol (BD)/1,6-hexanediol (HD) as chain extender, and four different macroglycols (MW: 2000): poly ...

Kinetics of Microbial Production of 2, 3-Butanediol from Cheese Whey Using Klebsiella pneumonia [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bioscience, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, 2011
 Abstract—In the light of limitation arising from the expensive nature of the production of 2,3-Butanediol (2,3-BD) from competitive petrochemical products and treatment of cheese whey based on biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) posed to the environment. The effect of aerated condition, pH, initial concentration of the cheese whey was studied with an aim

Nutritive Value of 1, 2-Propanediol Di-lauryl Succinate and 1, 3-Butanediol by Calves

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1971
Procedure of bioassay for chicks was applied to ruminants. Calves of about 8-week-old were fed the same but restricted amount of basal diet and graded levels of corn starch or test materials. The feeding conditions was so adjusted that body weight gain of calves from 1 st to 6 th week was in proportion to dietary energy supply. Digestive ability of the

Multi-Biofuel Production Under Controlled and Noncontrolled pH Conditions by a Glucose-Adapted Enterobacter cloacae

open access: yesFermentation
This study reports the effects of pH culture on multi-biofuel production (hydrogen, ethanol, and 2,3-butanediol) by Enterobacter cloacae K1ga, isolated from koala and adapted to grow in 100 g dm−3 glucose.
