Crossing the Blood–Brain Barrier with Molecularly Imprinted Polymeric Nanocarriers: An Emerging Frontier in Brain Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
Molecularly imprinted polymeric nanocarriers (nanoMIPs) offer robust, antibody‐mimetic platforms to overcome the blood‐brain barrier. The article surveys nanoMIP design and ligand‐directed surface engineering that harness receptor‐mediated transcytosis, and highlights therapeutic and diagnostic applications in neurodegeneration, brain tumors and ...

Cellpose+, a Morphological Analysis Tool for Feature Extraction of Stained Cell Images

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, Volume 2, Issue 1, February 2026.
We introduce Cellpose plus, a morphological and geometrical analysis tool for feature extraction of stained cell images built over Cellpose, a state‐of‐the‐art cell segmentation framework. We also introduce a dataset of DAPI and FITC stained cells to which our new method is applied.

Associations of Dietary Decanoic Acid Intake With Cognitive Function in the Elderly and the Mediating Effects of Hypertension and Diabetes: An Analysis From NHANES 2011–2014

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study included elderly people aged 60 and above in the NHANES 2011–2014 cycle. The research indicated that increased dietary decanoic acid intake was associated with better cognitive function in the elderly, among which diabetes and hypertension were statistically associated with a partial mediating effect, although causality cannot be inferred ...

Severe Euglycemic Diabetic Ketoacidosis Requiring Intubation After Tirzepatide and SGLT2 Inhibitor Coadministration in a Patient With Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus From a Large Tertiary Care Centre in Karachi, Pakistan: A Case Report and Brief Review of the Literature

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (euDKA) is an uncommon but potentially life‐threatening complication that may arise in patients treated with incretin‐based therapies or Sodium–Glucose Cotransporter‐2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. We report a 41‐year‐old female with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) who developed severe euDKA after initiating tirzepatide ...

The Biochemical Role of Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia L.) Aqueous Extract in Regulating Hepatic Gluconeogenesis in Rats Fed Ketogenic Diet

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Metabolic effects of a ketogenic diet and bitter melon extract on hepatic gluconeogenesis and glucose–lipid homeostasis. ABSTRACT The ketogenic diet (KD) has been suggested as a useful lifestyle intervention for metabolic syndrome; however, its long‐term metabolic effects remain debated.
