Nanofillers Reinforcing Biopolymer Composites for Sustainable Food Packaging Applications: A State‐of‐the‐Art Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biopolymers are sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to petroleum‐based plastics for food packaging. Its adoption is often limited by poor mechanical strength, barrier properties, and improved thermal stability through the incorporation of nanofillers.

Crafting a Democratic Enclave on the Cyberspace: Case Studies of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore

open access: yesJournal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs, 2011
As an antithesis of “authoritarian enclave” which has been well-established in the comparative politics literature, “democratic enclave” points to the institution of a state or the unambiguous regulatory space in society “where the authoritarian regime’s

Rational points and non-anticanonical height functions

open access: yes, 2019
A conjecture of Batyrev and Manin predicts the asymptotic behaviour of rational points of bounded height on smooth projective varieties over number fields.

Atmospheric Doping of Stretchable Polymer Semiconductors for Skin Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atmospheric doping system using oxygen molecules in air as dopants is introduced for stretchable polymer semiconductors. The chemisorbed oxygen molecules act as acceptor, lead to increase not only the hole concentration of the semiconductor film over two orders of magnitude (3.37 × 1017 cm−3) but also electrical properties of the field‐effect ...

Pursuing Centralization amidst Decentralization: The Politics of Brazil’s Innovative Response to HIV/AIDS Centralizando en un contexto de descentralización: La política de la innovadora respuesta de Brasil al SIDA

open access: yesJournal of Politics in Latin America, 2011
In recent years, Brazil has been highly revered for its response to HIV/AIDS. Despite the government’s delayed response, why and how did the national AIDS program eventually become so successful?

Biomaterial Strategies for Targeted Intracellular Delivery to Phagocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phagocytes are essential to a functional immune system, and their behavior defines disease outcomes. Engineered particles offer a strategic opportunity to target phagocytes, harnessing inflammatory modulation in disease. By tuning features like size, shape, and surface, these systems can modulate immune responses and improve targeted treatment for a ...

THE REVERBERATION LAG IN THE LOW-MASS X-RAY BINARY H1743-322 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The evolution of the inner accretion flow of a black hole X-ray binary during an outburst is still a matter of active research. X-ray reverberation lags are powerful tools for constraining disk–corona geometry.

The X-ray Outburst of H1743-322: High-Frequency QPOs with a 3:2 Frequency Ratio

open access: yes, 2004
We observed the 2003 X-ray outburst of H1743-322 in a series of 130 pointed observation with RXTE. We searched individual observations for high-frequency QPOs (HFQPOs) and found only weak or marginal detections near 240 and 160 Hz.
