A new pyrene derivative bearing a benzene dicarboxylic acid unit was designed for sensitive self‐assembly in solid and solution states. Single‐crystal X‐ray analysis revealed polymorphism, with non‐solvated and solvent incorporated forms showing distinct packing and excimer emission.
