On Majorana representations of the group $3^2{:}2$ of 3C-pure type and the corresponding vertex operator algebras [PDF]
In this article, we study Griess algebras and vertex operator subalgebras generated by Ising vectors in a moonshine type VOA such that the subgroup generated by the corresponding Miyamoto involutions has the shape $3^2{:}2$ and any two Ising vectors ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

A multi-particle model of the 3C 48 host
The first successful multi-particle model for the host of the well-known quasi-stellar object (QSO) 3C 48 is reported. It shows that the morphology and the stellar velocity field of the 3C 48 host can be reproduced by the merger of two disk galaxies. The

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

Biofilm and Quorum Sensing in Archaea
In the article, we presented a brief description of the Archaea, considering their structure, physiology and systematics. Based on the analysis of the literature, we bring closer the mechanism of biofilm formation, including extracellular polymeric ...

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

COMPTEL observations of the blazars 3C 454.3 and CTA 102 [PDF]
We have analyzed the two blazars of 3C 454.3 and CTA 102 using all available COMPTEL data from 1991 to 1999. In the 10–30 MeV band, emission from the general direction of the sources is found at the 4σ-level, being consistent with contributions from both

Physics Insights from Recent MAGIC AGN Observations
The total set of the 14 active galactic nuclei detected by MAGIC so far includes well-studied bright blazars like Mkn 501, the giant radio galaxy M 87, but also the distant flat-spectrum radio quasar 3C 279, and an intriguing gamma-ray source in the 3C ...
