High-Level Synthesis Based VLSI Architectures for Video Coding [PDF]
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is state-of-the-art video coding standard. Emerging applications like free-viewpoint video, 360degree video, augmented reality, 3D movies etc. require standardized extensions of HEVC.

Seeing Gusty Winds: Optical Tracking of Tree Motion Captures Peak 3‐s Gust Velocities
Our proof‐of‐concept shows that short video clips of trees and flags, analysed to detect their motions, potentially provide a low‐cost method to estimate peak 3‐s wind gusts. Such measurements offer insights into local wind hazard variations without the need for complex instrumentation, with future use envisaged in insurance risk assessment.

Survey of Inter‐Prediction Methods for Time‐Varying Mesh Compression
This paper surveys existing methods for compressing time‐varying meshes (TVMs), focusing on the challenge of exploiting data redundancies due to varying connectivity and the absence of implicit correspondence information. We review current performance, available datasets, and potential future trends in the field.

HEVC Based Frame Interleaved Coding Technique for Stereo and Multi-View Videos
The standard HEVC codec and its extension for coding multiview videos, known as MV-HEVC, have proven to deliver improved visual quality compared to its predecessor, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC’s multiview extension, H.264-MVC, for the same frame resolution with up ...
