Visualization of 3D city models on mobile devices
Proceedings of the 17th International Conference on 3D Web Technology, 20123D city models are increasingly being used as a tool for different applications related with urban management and planning. Current developments show the visualization of these models in desktop applications. The visualization of 3D city models in mobile devices is a great technological challenge because of the size of these models and the limited ...

Network-Based Visualization of 3D Landscapes and City Models
IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 2007To improve the visualization of large 3D landscapes and city models in a network environment, the authors use two different types of hierarchical level-of-detail models for terrain and groups of buildings. They also leverage the models to implement progressive streaming in both client-server and peer-to-peer network architectures.

Proceedings of the 17th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2009
The shapes of our cities change frequently. These changes have to be reflected in data sets representing urban objects. However, it must be assured that frequent updates do not affect geometric-topological consistency. This important aspect of spatial data quality guarantees assumptions that users and applications of 3D city models rely on, viz.

Hybrid 3D Segmentation Technique for 3D City Models
20143D city model is a virtual representation of a city or urban environment, where in GIS related context, represents existing cities in the world. Initially, they are used only as presentations that complement the results of 2D analyses and bear no analytical capabilities. The advancement in computer graphics technology has effectively sparked the effort

3D Integral Modeling for City Surface & Subsurface
2007With the rapid development of urban, city space extended from surface to subsurface. As the important data source for the representation of city spatial information, 3D city spatial data have the characteristics of multi-object, heterogeneity and multi-structure.
