3D local derivative pattern for hyperspectral face recognition

open access: yes, 2015
Traditional 2D face recognition has been studied for many years and has achieved great success. Nonetheless, there is high demand to explore unrevealed information other than structure and texture in spatial domain in the faces.

Face image analysis using a multiple features fitting strategy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The main contribution of this thesis is a novel algorithm for fitting a Three-Dimensional Morphable Model of faces to a 2D input image. This fitting algorithm enables the estimation of the 3D shape, the texture, the 3D pose and the light direction from a ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A 3D facial feature template protection scheme based on line cloud

open access: yes河南理工大学学报. 自然科学版
ObjectivesAiming at the problem that the storage security of 3D face point cloud template could not satisfy the privacy and security of recognition system, a face template protection scheme based on line cloud encryption was proposed ,and a 3D face ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

The application of 3D representations in face recognition

open access: yesVision Research, 2011
Most current psychological theories of face recognition suggest that faces are stored as multiple 2D views. This research aims to explore the application of 3D face representations by means of a new paradigm. Participants were required to match frontal views of faces to silhouettes of the same faces.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Weightless neural networks for face recognition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. The interface with the real-world has proved to be extremely challenging throughout the past 70 years in which computer technology has been developing.

An Efficient P-KCCA Algorithm for 2D-3D Face Recognition Using SVM

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2015
In this paper, a novel face recognition system for face recognition and identification based on a combination of Principal Component Analysis and Kernel Canonical Correlation Analysis (P-KCCA) using Support Vector Machine (SVM) is proposed.
