Encoding Occupancy in Memory Location for Efficient and Compact High‐Resolution Voxel Structures

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We encode information about geometric structure into the pointers of a sparse voxel directed acyclic graph (SVDAG). Each pointer carries information about the structure of the node it points to. Our encoding improves ray tracing performance and reduces model size in memory.

ESGNN: Towards Equivariant Scene Graph Neural Network for 3D Scene Understanding

open access: yesCoRR
Scene graphs have been proven to be useful for various scene understanding tasks due to their compact and explicit nature. However, existing approaches often neglect the importance of maintaining the symmetry-preserving property when generating scene graphs from 3D point clouds.

A Survey of Methods for Constructing 3D Urban Models From Point Clouds

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
The survey outlines a general process for constructing 3D models from point clouds and categorizes the methods based on their use of templates, basic surface primitives, hybrid approaches, or linear primitives. Additionally, the survey reviews the datasets and benchmarks that are essential for testing and training the developed methods.

Story2Board: A Training‐Free Approach for Expressive Visual Storytelling

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We present Story2Board, a training‐free framework for expressive storyboard generation from natural language. Existing methods narrowly focus on subject identity, overlooking key aspects of visual storytelling such as spatial composition, background evolution, and narrative pacing.

3D Character Reconstruction from Hand‐drawn Model Sheets

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Hand‐drawn model sheets are widely used in character design to define 3D shape and appearance through sparse multi‐view drawings. Reconstructing 3D characters from such sparse inputs has traditionally been challenging due to insufficient visual information.

CleanSplat: curriculum structural Gaussian splatting for spot-free novel view synthesis

open access: yesVirtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware
3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) has gained significant attention for its real-time, photorealistic rendering in novel view synthesis. However, its performance degrades severely when applied to real-world scenes with transients that break cross-view ...

LeafFit: Plant Assets Creation from 3D Gaussian Splatting

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We propose LeafFit, a pipeline that converts 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) of individual plants into editable, instanced mesh assets. While 3DGS faithfully captures complex foliage, its high memory footprint and lack of mesh topology make it incompatible with traditional game production workflows. We address this by leveraging the repetition of

Authoring Terrestrial Planets with Diffusion Models

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract To support the design and subsequent generation of terrestrial planets for use in the creative media, we propose a solution that employs a generative model trained on satellite data from planetary bodies with a defined solid surface, such as the Earth and Mars.
