An all-in-one workflow for emergency hippocampal-avoidance whole-brain radiotherapy in brain metastases, with optional online adaptive extension. [PDF]
Abstract Background Brain metastases (BMs), among the most prevalent intracranial malignant tumors, frequently induce acute symptoms such as headaches and motor deficits due to elevated intracranial pressure. Although hippocampal‐avoidance whole brain radiotherapy (HA‐WBRT) has demonstrated superior preservation of cognitive function compared to ...

Immersive Virtual Reality and Deliberate Practice for Complex Skills Acquisition During Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block Training. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Introduction This study aimed to determine construct and transfer validity of a virtual reality inferior alveolar nerve (VRIAN) injection simulation to improve the technique of inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) delivery for novice students. Methods Second year dental students (n = 44) were randomized into VR and control groups. At baseline (

RRT path planner with 3DOF local planner [PDF]
We present a path planning algorithm for a polyhedral robot with six degrees of freedom (6DOF) and a static obstacle. The planner consists of a dual-tree RRT algorithm that uses a novel local planner. A local planner tests if two robot configurations can be connected by a simple path.

Control algorithm of the unstable 3DOF system
Abstract The basic characteristics of a system with three degrees of freedom (3DOF) are nonlinearity and instability. An example of such a system is a double pendulum inverted on a moving platform, that is, a pendulum system with two joints and two rods.

Nonlinear predictive control of autonomous soaring UAVs using 3DOF models [PDF]
We design a nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) system for a soaring UAV in order to harvest the energy from the atmospheric updrafts. Our control framework combines an online estimation with a heuristic search method to obtain the UAV optimal ...
