Valvular and coronary blood flow quantification by cardiac 4D flow MRI [PDF]
Unlike X-ray, CT, PET and SPECT, which image body tissues based on their interaction with ionizing radiation, MRI exploits the tissues’ interaction with a magnetic field and radio waves. It does so non-invasively, without harming the body, and has become

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Second to fourth digit ratio and cooperative behavior. [PDF]
A low second to fourth digit ratio (2D:4D) has been related to high testosterone levels and to markers of high status. In a social dilemma context status can be obtained either by acting egoistically (i.e.

Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

A Survey of Cardiac 4D PC‐MRI Data Processing
Cardiac four‐dimensional phase‐contrast magnetic resonance imaging (4D PC‐MRI) acquisitions have gained increasing clinical interest in recent years. They allow to non‐invasively obtain extensive information about patient‐specific hemodynamics, and thus ...

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.
