Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

4D Flow MRI in Ascending Aortic Aneurysms: Reproducibility of Hemodynamic Parameters

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
(1) Background: Aorta hemodynamics have been associated with aortic remodeling, but the reproducibility of its assessment has been evaluated marginally in patients with thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). The current study evaluated intra- and interobserver reproducibility of 4D flow MRI-derived hemodynamic parameters (normalized flow displacement, flow ...

Visualization of Soft Tissue Venous Malformations of Head and Neck with 4D Flow Magnetic Resonance Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesNeurointervention, 2017
Evaluation of hemodynamics in venous malformation (VM) in the head and neck area is done by direct puncture venography before alcohol sclerotherapy, but it is difficult due to a variable degree of filling in from the artery and filling out into the ...

Self‐Seeded Nucleation of PET in a Benign Solvent Yields a High Modulus Aerogel With Ultra‐Low Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new benign solvent (1,3‐diphenylacetone) enables a simple, safe, and sustainable dissolution and gelation method to convert waste PET into low density, monolithic aerogels with high mechanical strength (E = 20 MPa) and remarkably low thermal conductivity (k = 21.9 to 28.9 mW/m·K).

Enhanced echocardiographic assessment of intracardiac flow in congenital heart disease.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Background4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (4D flow MRI) can assess and measure the complex flow patterns of the right ventricle (RV) in congenital heart diseases, but its limited availability makes the broad application of intracardiac flow assessment

Super‐Resolution Ultrasound Based Cell Tracking With Polymeric Nanobubbles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a super‐resolution ultrasound platform for tracking cells in vivo. Biocompatible polymeric nanobubbles are used as highly echogenic intracellular labels. Following the injection of cells and microbubbles, ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) can dynamically match the microvascular architecture and individual cell trajectories ...
