Lipid Aberrations in Lichen Planus

open access: yesMetabolites, 2022
Lichen planus (LP) is a dermatosis without a fully understood etiopathogenesis, the frequency of which is estimated to be less than 1% among the population. LP may involve the glabrous skin, mucosal membranes, scalp, nails and genital area.

Burr hole locations are associated with recurrence in single burr hole drainage surgery for chronic subdural hematoma

open access: yesWorld Neurosurgery: X, 2023
Background: Various factors have been reported as risk factors for chronic subdural hematomas (CSDH) recurrence. However, few studies have quantitatively evaluated the impact of CSDH locations and burr hole positions on recurrence.

Specific and Sensitive Detection of Venturia nashicola, the Scab Fungus of Asian Pears, by Nested PCR

open access: yesThe Plant Pathology Journal, 2013
The fungus Venturia nashicola is the causal agent of scab on Asian pears. For the rapid and reliable identification as well as sensitive detection of V. nashicola, a PCR-based technique was developed. DNA fingerprints of three closely related species, V.

A Fully-Distributed Heuristic Algorithm for Control of Autonomous Vehicle Movements at Isolated Intersections

open access: yesInternational Journal of Transportation Science and Technology, 2014
Optimizing autonomous vehicle movements through roadway intersections is a challenging problem. It has been demonstrated in the literature that traditional traffic control, such as traffic signal and stop sign control are not optimal especially for heavy

Photosynthetic apparatus performance and anatomical modulations of Alcantarea imperialis (Bromeliaceae) exposed to selenium during in vitro growth

open access: yesPhotosynthetica, 2021
Elements not usually included in culture medium formulations, such as selenium (Se), may have beneficial effects on micropropagated plants. We evaluated the effects of Se on the physiological and anatomical responses of Alcantarea imperialis during in ...

The association between diffusion-weighted imaging-Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score and the outcome following mechanical thrombectomy of anterior circulation occlusion

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery, 2023
Background: Although preoperative diffusion-weighted imaging-Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score (DWI-ASPECTS) is well known as a predictor of outcomes after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for large-vessel occlusion (LVO), assessment of ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.
