The strong converse theorem for the product-state capacity of quantum channels with ergodic Markovian memory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Establishing the strong converse theorem for a communication channel confirms that the capacity of that channel, that is, the maximum achievable rate of reliable information communication, is the ultimate limit of communication over that channel. Indeed,

Comment on ``Consistency, amplitudes and probabilities in quantum theory'' by A. Caticha

open access: yes, 1999
A carefully written paper by A. Caticha [Phys. Rev. A57, 1572 (1998)] applies consistency arguments to derive the quantum mechanical rules for compounding probability amplitudes in much the same way as earlier work by the present author [J. Math.

Inclusive Quasi-Elastic Charged-Current Neutrino-Nucleus Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Quasi-Elastic (QE) contribution of the nuclear inclusive electron scattering model developed in Nucl. Phys. A627 (1997) 543 is extended to the study of electroweak Charged Current (CC) induced nuclear reactions, at intermediate energies of interest ...

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome

Renewal of the gage-block interferometer at INRIM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Hilger and Watts interferometer in use at INRIM for the calibration of gage blocks up to 100 mm has been recently upgraded with stabilized He-Ne laser sources providing traceable wavelengths at 633 nm, 543 nm and 594 nm.

ZSL Orchestrates Synaptonemal Complex Assembly as a Central Region Scaffold to Ensure Synapsis Fidelity and Crossover Control in Polyploid Meiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A central molecular adaptor, ZSL, is identified that links transverse filaments ZYP1 to central element SCEP1/2 to drive synaptonemal complex assembly in Brassica napus. Loss of ZSL abolishes synaptonemal complex formation, disrupts meiotic chromosome segregation, and markedly increases crossovers, providing mechanistic insight into meiotic fidelity ...

MC/DC based estimation and detection of residual faults in PLC logic networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A logic coverage measure related to MC/DC testing is used to estimate residual faults. The residual fault prediction method is evaluated on an industrial PLC logic example.

KMT2C Loss Promotes NF2‐Wildtype Meningioma Progression and Ferroptosis Sensitivity via Epigenetic Repression of Hippo Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In NF2–wild‐type meningiomas, loss of the epigenetic regulator KMT2C suppresses NF2 transcription and inactivates Hippo signaling, driving tumor progression and increasing ferroptosis sensitivity. Restoration of histone acetylation reverses these effects and inhibits tumor growth, identifying KMT2C as a key regulator linking epigenetic control, NF2 ...
