Terahertz imaging and spectroscopy of large-area single-layer graphene
We demonstrate terahertz (THz) imaging and spectroscopy of a 15x15-mm^2 single-layer graphene film on Si using broadband THz pulses. The THz images clearly map out the THz carrier dynamics of the graphene-on-Si sample, allowing us to measure sheet ...

Pressure skin wounds are frequent complications after spinal cord injury (SCI), with impaired healing due to vascular and immune deficits. Elastin‐like polypeptides (ELP) fused to α‐MSH (MSH‐ELP) or MCP‐1 (MCP‐ELP) are developed and tested on these wounds. The resulting nanoparticles are non‐toxic and bioactive, and they enhance macrophage recruitment,

Machine learning–guided engineering of a plectasin‐derived peptide yields DC05, a potent antimycobacterial candidate. Encapsulation into tuftsin‐functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles enhances intracellular delivery, stability, and activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis while maintaining low cytotoxicity and minimal hemolysis. The combined

Puckering effects of 4-hydroxy-l-proline isomers on the conformation of ornithine-free Gramicidin S
The cyclic peptide cyclo(Val-Leu-Leu-D-Phe-Pro)2 (peptide 1) was specifically designed for structural chemistry investigations, drawing inspiration from Gramicidin S (GS).

This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.

3D Soft Hydrogels Induce Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells “Deep” Quiescence
Three‐dimensional soft hydrogels mimicking the bone marrow niche induce deep quiescence in human mesenchymal stem cells. Unlike 2D culture, 3D matrices halt proliferation, regulate cell‐cycle and quiescence markers, and downregulate mTORC1 signaling, preserving stem cell phenotype and therapeutic potential ex vivo.

Integrating Vibrio natriegens for Photon Manipulation in Living Lighting Devices
Rationalization of genetic and material engineering tools has enabled the engineering of fluorescent Vibrio natriegens (V. natriegens) to fabricate straightforward, highly emissive and stable V. natriegens‐silicones color filters for the first red‐emitting bacteria‐hybrid light‐emitting diodes. This pinpoints V. natriegens as a high‐performance protein

Markarian 590: the AGN awakens
ABSTRACT Changing-look active galactic nucleus Mkn 590 recently underwent a sudden ‘re-ignition’, marked by substantial increases in optical/ultravilolet (UV) and X-ray continuum flux since last couple of years. Swift-XRT observations revealed the re-emergence of a soft X-ray excess as the source transitioned from a low-flux state in ...
