Quantifying and estimating additive measures of interaction from case-control data

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we develop a general framework for quantifying how binary risk factors jointly influence a binary outcome. Our key result is an additive expansion of odds ratios as a sum of marginal effects and interaction terms of varying order.

Comparison of robust tests for genetic association using case-control studies

open access: yes, 2006
In genetic studies of complex diseases, the underlying mode of inheritance is often not known. Thus, the most powerful test or other optimal procedure for one model, e.g. recessive, may be quite inefficient if another model, e.g.

An inhomogeneous stochastic rate process for evolution from states in an information geometric neighbourhood of uniform fitness

open access: yes, 2010
This study elaborates some examples of a simple evolutionary stochastic rate process where the population rate of change depends on the distribution of properties--so different cohorts change at different rates. We investigate the effect on the evolution

Combining domain knowledge and statistical models in time series analysis

open access: yes, 2006
This paper describes a new approach to time series modeling that combines subject-matter knowledge of the system dynamics with statistical techniques in time series analysis and regression.

Generalized coarsened confounding for causal effects: a large-sample framework

open access: yesJournal of Causal Inference
There has been widespread use of causal inference methods for the rigorous analysis of observational studies and to identify policy evaluations. In this article, we consider a class of generalized coarsened procedures for confounding.

An Application of ISO 5725 in Brewing Industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
2002 Mathematics Subject Classification: 62P30, 62P10.The colloidal stability is very important part of the total beer quality. The stabilized beers have to have a long shelf-life.

A sensitivity analysis for causal parameters in structural proportional hazards models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Deviations from assigned treatment occur often in clinical trials. In such a setting, the traditional intent-to-treat analysis does not measure biological efficacy but rather programmatic effectiveness.
