On the oxide formation on stainless steels AISI 304 and incoloy 800H investigated with XPS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The influence of cold work on the initially formed oxide layer on the stainless steels AISI 304 and Incology 800H has been studied by XPS. Oxidations were performed at pressures of 10-6-10-4 Pa and temperatures of 300–800 K.

Long non-coding RNA MEG3 regulates migration and invasion of lung cancer stem cells via miR-650/SLC34A2 axis.

open access: yesBiomedicine & pharmacotherapy = Biomedecine & pharmacotherapie, 2019
Long non-coding RNA maternally expressed gene 3 (MEG3) is related to the occurrence and development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the function and underlying molecular mechanisms of MEG3 in lung cancer stem cells (LCSCs) are still ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

A study on the inhibitory mechanism for cholesterol absorption by α-cyclodextrin administration

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
Background: Micelle formation of cholesterol with lecithin and bile salts is a key process for intestinal absorption of lipids. Some dietary fibers commonly used to reduce the lipid content in the body are thought to inhibit lipid absorption by binding ...

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Comparison of pathophysiology in subclinical hyperthyroidism with different etiologies

open access: yesEndocrine Journal
Subclinical hyperthyroidism (SHyper) is defined as normal levels of free thyroxine (fT4) and free triiodothyronine (fT3) with suppressed levels of TSH.

Androgen receptor phosphorylation at serine 308 and serine 791 predicts enhanced survival in castrate resistant prostate cancer patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We previously reported that AR phosphorylation at serine 213 was associated with poor outcome and may contribute to prostate cancer development and progression.

Creep behavior of a 10%Cr heat-resistant martensitic steel with low nitrogen and high boron contents at 650 °C

open access: yesMaterials Science & Engineering: A, 2019
The purpose of this study is to identify the relationships between the creep behavior of the 10% Cr martensitic steel with 0.008% B and 0.003% N and changes in microstructure and precipitations of secondary phases.
