Leading the Loop: Anchor‐Led Orchestration in Nascent Circular Ecosystems—A Qualitative Case Study

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The transition towards a circular economy necessitates coordinated, systemic change across value chains. Yet the role of anchor firms in initiating and orchestrating nascent circular ecosystems remains underexplored. Using an inductive, qualitative single‐case design, we analyse a German mid‐sized entrepreneurial firm, drawing on 21 interviews

A goodness‐of‐fit test for regression models with discrete outcomes

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Regression models are often used to analyze discrete outcomes, but classical goodness‐of‐fit tests such as those based on the deviance or Pearson's statistic can be misleading or have little power in this context. To address this issue, we propose a new test, inspired by the work of Czado et al.

A Comparison Of K-Means And Fuzzy C-Means Clustering Methods For A Sample Of Gulf Cooperation Council Stock Markets

open access: yesFolia Oeconomica Stetinensia, 2014
The main goal of this article is to compare data-mining clustering methods (k-means and fuzzy c-means) based on a sample of banking and energy companies on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) stock markets.

Solving the Least Squares Method problem in the AHP for 3 X 3 and 4 X 4 matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is one of the most popular methods used in Multi-Attribute Decision Making. The Eigenvector Method (EM) and some distance minimizing methods such as the Least Squares Method (LSM) are of the possible tools for ...

Stopping Power of Electron Liquid for Slow Quantum Projectiles

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We revisit the problem of the deceleration of a charge moving in a medium. In the low‐velocity limit of the projectile, we construct the fully nonlinear (in the charge–target interaction) theory of the stopping power (SP), which goes beyond the classical Ehrenfest dynamics.

Lactobacillus paracasei A13 and High-Pressure Homogenization Stress Response

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2020
Sub-lethal high-pressure homogenization treatments applied to Lactobacillus paracasei A13 demonstrated to be a useful strategy to enhance technological and functional properties without detrimental effects on the viability of this strain. Modification of membrane fatty acid composition is reported to be the main regulatory mechanisms adopted by ...

Instability mechanism and failure characteristics of underground cavern in block system under the action of seismic waves

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Seismic waves with tensile stress, high amplitude, and low frequency are most likely to trigger block instability and sliding. Blocks with a single sliding surface are more prone to movement than those with multiple constraints, and roof‐positioned blocks are especially vulnerable to slide.

Dual‐Phase In Situ Symbiosis Structures for Ultrahigh Capacitive Energy Storage

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A dual‐phase in situ symbiosis structure designed by introducing a linear‐like pyrochlore phase (P phase) into the ferroelectric Aurivillius phase (A phase) and precisely controlling its proportion provides a new strategy for optimizing dielectric energy storage.

Structural Biology and Protein Engineering of Thrombolytics

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2019
Myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke are the most frequent causes of death or disability worldwide. Due to their ability to dissolve blood clots, the thrombolytics are frequently used for their treatment. Improving the effectiveness of thrombolytics
