Sequence Characterization of matrix protein (M1) in influenza A viruses (H1, H3 and H5)
This study brings the analysis of amino acid sequences of matrix protein (M1) from the influenza virus A (H1N1, H3N2 and H5N1) during 2007-2208. 741 sequences of M1 were compared, of them, H1N1 388; H3N2 251 and H5N1 102.

Modeling Airborne Influenza in Three Dimensions
A novel 3D fluid dynamics model demonstrates how influenza outbreaks spread spatially via “epidemic flow.” Simulations reveal that direct contact is the dominant transmission route over aerosol spread, offering a new tool to inform targeted public health interventions and spatially‐aware risk assessment.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims This study aimed to compare the clinical symptoms of mild COVID‐19 and influenza during a period when both diseases circulated in the 2023–2024 influenza season in Japan. Methods Outpatients diagnosed with COVID‐19, influenza A, or influenza B by antigen test kits at 10 medical facilities in Japan were enrolled.

FEATURES OF EPIDEMIC PROCESS OF INFLUENZA A(H1N1)PDM09 AND A(H3N2) IN RUSSIA FROM 2009 TO 2017
The goal of this work is to compare the key parameters of influenza epidemics of different etiology. Four epidemics of influenza with predominance of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and 4 epidemics of influenza A(H3N2) were analyzed using the database of the ...

ABSTRACT Human parainfluenza viruses (HPIVs) commonly cause croup and lower respiratory tract infections in young children. Despite typically self‐limiting with mild symptoms, the innate immune responses to HPIVs remain poorly understood, especially across all four types in human nasal epithelial cells (hNECs), the primary infection site.

Myopericarditis and exertional rhabdomyolysis following an influenza A (H3N2) infection [PDF]
Abstract Background Acute myopericarditis and exertional rhabdomyolysis, two uncommon but well-described diseases with potentially life-threatening effects, are generally considered as independent clinical entities. However, they may in fact be pathophysiologically related under certain circumstances.
