Metric fluctuations in higher-dimensional black holes
We investigated the impact of metric fluctuations on the higher-dimensional black hole geometry. We generalized the four-dimensional model to higher dimensions to treat quantum vacuum fluctuations by the classical approach.

Solitary Waves in Optical Fibers Governed by Higher Order Dispersion [PDF]
An exact solitary wave solution is presented for the nonlinear Schrodinger equation governing the propagation of pulses in optical fibers including the effects of second, third and fourth order dispersion. The stability of this soliton-like solution with

A New Approach to Approximate Solutions for Nonlinear Differential Equation
The question discussed in this study concerns one of the most helpful approximation methods, namely, the expansion of a solution of a differential equation in a series in powers of a small parameter.

A Nonoscillatory Second-Order Time-Stepping Procedure for Reaction-Diffusion Equations
After a theory of morphogenesis in chemical cells was introduced in the 1950s, much attention had been devoted to the numerical solution of reaction-diffusion (RD) partial differential equations (PDEs).

Perturbative and non-perturbative studies with the delta function potential
We show that the delta function potential can be exploited along with perturbation theory to yield the result of certain infinite series. The idea is that any exactly soluble potential if coupled with a delta function potential remains exactly soluble ...

Normal modes for two-dimensional gravitating kinks
We study small perturbations around an arbitrary static kink solution of a two-dimensional (2D) gravity-scalar system, where the gravity part is described by a subclass of 2D dilaton gravity theory, and the scalar matter field has generalized dynamics ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

The Asymptotic Expansion Method via Symbolic Computation
This paper describes an algorithm for implementing a perturbation method based on an asymptotic expansion of the solution to a second-order differential equation. We also introduce a new symbolic computation system which works with the so-called modified

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Nonpolynomial Spline for Numerical Solution of Singularly Perturbed Convection-Diffusion Equations with Discontinuous Source Term [PDF]
This research addresses the numerical solution of singularly perturbed convection-diffusion kind boundary value problem of second-order with a discontinuity term.
