Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Periodic solutions with prescribed minimal period to Hamiltonian systems

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In this article, we study the existence of periodic solutions to second order Hamiltonian systems. Our goal is twofold. When the nonlinear term satisfies a strictly monotone condition, we show that, for any T > 0 $T>0$ , there exists a T-periodic ...

An exact solution of the higher-order gravity in standard radiation-dominated era

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
We report that the standard evolution of radiation-dominated era (RDE) universe a∝t1/2 is a sufficient condition for solving a sixth order gravitational field equation derived from the Lagrangian containing BRabRab+CRR;cc as well as a polynomial f(R) for

Topological R\'enyi entropy after a quantum quench [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present an analytical study on the resilience of topological order after a quantum quench. The system is initially prepared in the ground state of the toric-code model, and then quenched by switching on an external magnetic field.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Does backreaction enforce the averaged null energy condition in semiclassical gravity? [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The expected stress-energy tensor of quantum fields generically violates the local positive energy conditions of general relativity. However, may satisfy some nonlocal conditions such as the averaged null energy condition (ANEC), which would rule out ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

IMPACT OF HARDENING ON SLIGHTLY CURVED ELASTICITY-PLASTICITY CRACK TIP DISPLACEMENT UNDER QUASI-STATIC LOADS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2015
In this article,elastic-plastic curved crack tip opening displacement in hardened material under quasi-static loads has been mainly studied, and curved crack tip opening displacement has been calculated as a practical application of a second order ...

Decomposition–Linearization–Sequential Homotopy Methods for Nonlinear Differential/Integral Equations

open access: yesMathematics
In the paper, two new analytic methods using the decomposition and linearization technique on nonlinear differential/integral equations are developed, namely, the decomposition–linearization–sequential method (DLSM) and the linearized homotopy ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
