Characterisation of the vibrio cholerae antibiotic resistance var operon [PDF]
The discovery and use of antibiotics in the chemotherapy of bacterial infections has revolutionised medicine as it is today. Unfortunately, the progressive use of antibiotics has promoted the evolution of bacterial defences against these mediators and ...

Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.

Solid-state NMR investigations of the ATP binding cassette multidrug transporter LmrA
The development of resistance to multiple drugs is a major problem in treatment of number of infectious diseases and cancer. The phenomenon of multidrug resistance (MDR) is based on the synergetic interplay of a number of mechanisms such as target ...

A biohybrid nanorobot integrating lytic bacteriophage N4 with Pd nanozymes is developed for targeted eradication of multidrug‐resistant E. coli biofilms. Synergistic bacterial lysis and ROS‐mediated oxidation enable simultaneous biofilm removal and antibiotic resistance genes degradation, maintaining high efficacy in complex wastewater environments ...

Mechanistic insights into ATP hydrolysis by the ABC transporter TAP
The transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP) plays a pivotal role in the adaptive immune response against virus-infected or malignantly transformed cells.

Dual priming with minocycline and photodynamic priming reprograms the pancreatic tumor microenvironment to overcome chemoresistance. By suppressing DNA repair enzyme Tdp1, inducing photooxidative damage, and enhancing irinotecan delivery via light‐activated nanoencapsulation, this strategy remodels the tumor microenvironment and drives immune ...

Transport and catabolism of murein tripeptide in Escherichia coli K-12 [PDF]
In bacteria, extracellular peptides are not only a source of nutrients but also play important roles in cell-cell communication. The primary mode of uptake of these peptides in bacteria is via ATP Binding Cassette (ABC) transporters.
