Multidrug resistance protein 4 (MRP4/ABCC4)
Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, 2008Multidrug resistance protein (MRP) 4 is a member of the MRP/ABCC subfamily of ATP-binding cassette transporters, which are capable of pumping a wide variety of endogenous and xenobiotic organic anionic compounds out of the cell. In addition to its role in the body distribution and renal excretion of a wide variety of antiviral, cytostatic, antibiotic ...

The ABCC4 gene is a promising target for pancreatic cancer therapy
Gene, 2012Pancreatic cancer is a malignant neoplasm of the pancreas that usually has a poor prognosis. The investigation of targets that effectively inhibit pancreatic cancer cell proliferation should provide a fundamental basis for the clinical application of gene therapy.

Multidrug resistance protein 4 (MRP4/ABCC4) mediates efflux of bimane-glutathione
The International Journal of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, 2004Multidrug resistance proteins (MRPs) are ATP-dependent export pumps that mediate the export of organic anions. ABCC1 (MRP1), ABCC2 (MRP2) and ABCC3 (MRP3) are all able to facilitate the efflux of anionic conjugates including glutathione (GSH), glucuronide and sulfate conjugates of xenobiotics and endogenous molecules.

Drug Resistance Updates
The role of ABCC4, an ATP-binding cassette transporter, in the process of platelet formation, megakaryopoiesis, is unknown. Here, we show that ABCC4 is highly expressed in megakaryocytes (MKs). Mining of public genomic data (ATAC-seq and genome wide chromatin interactions, Hi-C) revealed that key megakaryopoiesis transcription factors (TFs) interacted ...

Androgen regulation of multidrug resistance‐associated protein 4 (MRP4/ABCC4) in prostate cancer
The Prostate, 2008AbstractBACKGROUNDMRP4/ABCC4 is an ATP‐binding cassette transporter expressed in normal prostate. This study aimed to define the pattern of MRP4/ABCC4 expression in normal and malignant prostate tissue and the relationship of MRP4/ABCC4 expression and function in response to androgen signaling.METHODSEighty‐four radical prostatectomy specimens from ...
