Five-dimensional monopole equation with hedgehog ansatz and Abel’s differential equation [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2008
We review the generalized monopole in the five-dimensional Euclidean space. A numerical solution with the Hedge-Hog ansatz is studied. The Bogomol'nyi equation becomes a second order autonomous non-linear differential equation. The equation can be translated into the Abel's differential equation of the second kind and is an algebraic differential ...

On the Abel differential equations of third kind

open access: yesDiscrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems - B, 2020
In this paper, using Poincaré compactification, the authors give a classification of the topological phase portraits of a special kind of quadratic differential systems, namely the Abel quadratic equation of third kind. The paper also describes the maximal number of polynomial solutions that Abel polynomial differential equations can have.

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

An Abel ordinary differential equation class generalizing known integrable classes [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2003
We present a multi-parameter non-constant-invariant class of Abel ordinary differential equations with the following remarkable features. This one class is shown to unify, that is, contain as particular cases, all the integrable classes presented by Abel, Liouville and Appell, as well as all those shown in Kamke's book and various other references.

Material Selection and Geometric Design for Few‐filament Shape Memory Polymer Yarns for Force Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A custom shape memory polymer material selection process relates quantitative application criteria (e.g., compression garment yarns) to material characterization information. The selected materials are manufactured into yarn geometries, which expand the design space by creating structural stress‐strain profiles beyond the nominal material stress‐strain

The Numerical Solution of the L-Fractional Abel Differential Equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences and Modelling
In this paper, approximate solutions of the L (Leibniz)-fractional Abel differential equations of the first and second kind are computed by using the shifted Morgan-Voyce (SMV) polynomials. Fractional derivatives are defined in the Leibniz sense. Firstly,

A cubic nonlinear population growth model for single species: theory, an explicit–implicit solution algorithm and applications

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
In this paper, we extend existing population growth models and propose a model based on a nonlinear cubic differential equation that reveals itself as a special subclass of Abel differential equations of first kind.

Understanding Ionic Flow in Nanofluidic Blind‐Hole Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) Membranes for Osmotic Energy Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes have traditionally served as structural supports in osmotic energy systems. Here, blind‐hole AAO membranes are demonstrated as active ion‐selective platforms with tunable nanopore structures. By balancing membrane resistance, ion selectivity, and flux, enhanced performance is achieved, delivering a maximum power ...

Nonlocal symmetries of Riccati and Abel chains and their similarity reductions

open access: yes, 2012
We study nonlocal symmetries and their similarity reductions of Riccati and Abel chains. Our results show that all the equations in Riccati chain share the same form of nonlocal symmetry.
