Laser ablation of polymers: a review

open access: yesPolymer international, 2019
Laser Ablation (LA), which employs a pulsed laser to remove materials from a substrate for generating micro/nano structures, has tremendous applications in the fabrication of metals, ceramics, glasses, and polymers. It has become a noteworthy approach to

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Identification of the Ectopic Foci of Focal Atrial Tachycardia (FAT) by Using Electrocardiogram (ECG) Signal Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علمی دانشگاه علوم پزشکی کردستان
Background and Aim: Cardiac electrophysiology study (EPS) is the study of the electrical system of the heart. One of the most common methods of treating cardiac arrhythmias is ablation.

Comparative Efficacy and Safety of Cryoballoon vs Laser Balloon Ablation for Pulmonary Vein Isolation in Patients With Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews
Purpose: Atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common arrhythmia in older adults, is often treated with cryoballoon ablation (CBA) or laser balloon ablation (LBA) when refractory to medication.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

(Ti,Zr,Hf,Ta)CN/SiCN: A new ultrahigh-temperature ceramic nanocomposite with excellent mechanical properties and ablation resistance

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
Dense monolithic (Ti,Zr,Hf,Ta)CN/SiCN ceramic nanocomposites are prepared via the pyrolysis of novel (Ti-,Zr-,Hf-,Ta)-containing single-source precursors (SSPs) and spark plasma sintering (SPS) with a high heating rate.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Epicardial Electrical Activation During Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports, 2019
High-definition mapping of atrial fibrillation is most commonly performed from the endocardial surface. This report describes an example of a case in which combined mapping of the endocardium and epicardium of the left atrium demonstrated electrical ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
