T2-based temperature monitoring in bone marrow for MR-guided focused ultrasound. [PDF]
BackgroundCurrent clinical protocols for MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) treatment of osseous lesions, including painful bone metastases and osteoid osteomas, rely on measurement of the temperature change in adjacent muscle to estimate the ...

We present the first solution structure of the Ca2+‐depleted LETM1 F‐EF‐hand through a D676A/N678A Ca2+ binding‐deficient mutant, revealing a closed hydrophobic cleft caused by a unique F1‐helix pivot. The apo LETM1 F‐EF‐hand exhibits regiospecific hot and cold unfolding, sensitivity to physiological pH changes and potential for promiscuous heterotypic

Insertion of the FeB cofactor in cNORs lacking metal inserting chaperones
Nitric oxide reductase is an enzyme found in the bacterial denitrification pathway. The NOR active site contains a non‐heme iron, often, but not always inserted with the assistance of chaperones. Here, we study the insertion of FeB in the subfamily of cNORs lacking chaperones and found a putative channel, conserved in the family, perhaps enabling the ...

Long-Term Follow-Up of Cardioneuroablation to Treat Second-Degree Block After Slow Pathway Ablation
We present the long-term follow-up of a 31-year-old woman who underwent cardioneuroablation (for atrioventricular (AV) block. Slow pathway ablation was performed in September 2017 with normal follow-up until April 2018, when the patient started noticing ...

LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.

Force‐sensing catheters during pediatric radiofrequency ablation: The FEDERATION Study [PDF]
Background Based on data from studies of atrial fibrillation ablations, optimal parameters for the TactiCath (TC; St. Jude Medical, Inc) force‐sensing ablation catheter are a contact force of 20 g and a force‐time integral of 400

This study explores the distinct molecular mechanisms underlying Lynch syndrome‐associated and sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC). By highlighting the therapeutic potential of targeting the PI3K‐Akt pathway in Lynch syndrome‐associated CRC and the Wnt pathway in sporadic CRC, the findings open avenues for personalised treatment strategies, aiming to ...

Transient Newton rings in dielectrics upon fs laser ablation [PDF]
We report the appearance of transient Newton rings in dielectrics (sapphire and lead-oxide glass) during ablation with single fs laser pulses. Employing femtosecond microscopy with 800 nm excitation and 400 nm illumination, we observe a characteristic ring pattern that dynamically changes for increasing delay times between pump and probe pulse.

Transient complete heart block following catheter ablation of a left lateral accessory pathway. [PDF]
A 16-year-old female with symptomatic Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome underwent catheter ablation of a left-sided lateral accessory pathway. The accessory pathway was eliminated with the first ablation lesion; however, the patient immediately ...
