Three New α-globin Variants: Hb Itapira [α30(b11)glu→val (α1)], Hb Bom Jesus Da Lapa [α30(b11)glu→ala (α1)] And Hb Boa Esperança [α16(a14)lys→thr (α2)]

open access: yes, 2015
Three novel α-globin variants were found during a screening program for hemoglobinopathies in blood donors at the UNICAMP Hematology and Hemotherapy Center, Campinas, State of São Paulo, Southeastern Brazil.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

A Nanobody‐LNP Platform for Targeting and Relicensing Dendritic Cells for Potent Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plastin‐2 (PLS2) is identified as a dual‐function receptor on DCs that mediates both nanoparticle uptake and immunomodulation. A nanobody‐LNP platform is engineered to integrate antigen delivery with relicensing DCs. The therapeutic strategy elicits potent anti‐tumor T cell responses and leads to significant inhibition of established tumors in vivo ...

ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

MOLECULAR LESION FREQUENCY OF HEMOGLOBIN GENE DISORDERS IN TAIWAN

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]Hemoglobin (Hb) gene disorders are common inherited diseases in Taiwan. The αα- and ββ-thalassemias are among the well-known Hb diseases in this area. We reviewed abnormal hematological data in 3578 cases, identified between 1998 and 2009, as
