Dependence of Microturbulence on Absolute f-Values

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1973
A study of 51 main-sequence A to G stars shows that microturbulent velocities derived using the Kiel absolute f-values for Fe I are generally smaller than those determined with the Corliss and Warner f-values. Mso, in this spectral range excitation temperatures for Fe I come out to be higher by about - 0. in 0.

THE DEPTH DEPENDENCE OF PENUMBRAL ABSOLUTE VELOCITIES

Solar Physics, 1997
Penumbral line-core shifts at different heights are determined from the lines Fei 5434.5 A, Fei 5435.2 A, and Nii 5435.8 A using two adjacent water vapor lines for an absolute wavelength scale. The large granular blue shift of 0.6 km s-1 for the faint Fe 5435 line from deep layers yields for the centre-side penumbra absolute velocities up to 3 km s-1 ...

Absolute Pitch Does Not Depend on Early Musical Training

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2003
Abstract: The etiology and defining characteristics of absolute pitch (AP) have been controversial. To test the importance of musical training in the development of this skill, we developed a new paradigm for identifying AP that is independent of a subject's musical experience.

Absolute involvement: the experience of mothers of ventilator-dependent children

Health and Social Care in the Community, 1998
Home care for a technology dependent child is stressful, costly, and time consuming, yet there is little research concerning the maternal caregiver experience. Sixteen mothers whose children required ventilators participated in this study. Using grounded theory methods, 32 interviews were examined to identify the core variable of absolute involvement ...

Temperature dependence of the absolute fluorescence yields of chloroplast fragments

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1980
Abstract Absolute quantum yields of fluorescence were measured for different forms of chlorophyll in photosystems I and II over the temperature range 293-4 °K. The values obtained at 293 °K for short-wave emission are equal to about 0.3% ( ϑ 1 ) in photosystem I, and about 1% ( ϑ 2 ) in photosystem II, while the values for long-wave emission are ...

Absolute Macrophage Dependency of T Lymphocyte Activation by Mitogens

The Journal of Immunology, 1976
Abstract A T lymphocyte subpopulation that contains only 0.3% macropages and less than 2% B lymphocytes has been prepared from guinea pig lymph node cells by the use of two different types of adherence columns. This subpopulation does not proliferate in response to the mitogens Con A or PHA unless additional macrophages are added.

The temperature dependence of absolute gas phase acidities

International Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2000
Abstract Using both ab initio and semiempirical calculations, the temperature dependence of the thermochemical cycle relating gas phase enthalpies of acidity to electron affinities and bond dissociation energies is examined. In almost all cases, the effect of temperature is less than the uncertainties in the thermochemical quantities themselves.

‘Feeling of absolute dependence’ or ‘absolute feeling of dependence’? A question revisited

Religious Studies, 2005
The translation of Schleiermacher's key phrase ‘das schlechthinnige Abhängigkeitsgefühl’ is a matter of some contention. It has been suggested that the traditional translation (‘feeling of absolute dependence’) is in fact inaccurate and that it should be replaced with the accurate ‘absolute feeling of dependence’.

The Feeling of Absolute Dependence

The Journal of Religion, 1977
I wish to discuss a feeling, or a family of similar feelings, which people have thought to be of religious significance or even to be the essence of religion. I have titled my essay with the name given to this experience by Schleiermacher, though the experience is by no means his idiosyncrasy.

The Optimization of Co-Dependent and Absolutely Additive System

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Based on the additives of system function, and the co-dependence between the system and subsystems. We analyzed the optimization of co-dependent and absolutely additive system followed after the paper The optimization of independent and absolutely additive system. We make further efforts to analyze the performance function of absolutely additive system,
