An experiment was conducted with graded levels of three essential heavy metals viz., MnSO4, CuSO4 and ZnSO4at three different concentrations i.e., MnSO4 @ 1000, 2000 and 3000 mg kg-1 soil, CuSO4 @ 100, 200 and 300 mg kg-1 soil, ZnSO4 @ 200, 400 and 600 mg kg-1 soil in addition with no application of nutrients as well as essential heavy metals in the ...

Modeling developmental growth stages in mango on the basis of absolute vs. relative growth rates
Acta Horticulturae, 2017Plant development, the change in plant structure, and growth, the increase of organ size over time are often studied as two separate processes. The concept of developmental growth stages has been recently proposed in mango to integrate both morphological traits and growth measurements.

Kinetics of spiral growth of calcite crystals and determination of the absolute rate constant
Journal of Crystal Growth, 1990Abstract Seeded growth experiments with calcite crystals at constant values of pH, together with reinterpretation of literature data for growth of calcite show that the kinetics can be explained in terms of a spiral growth mechanism, in which the density of kinks depends on the supersaturation and in which the rate constant can be interpreted in ...

Short eruption window revealed by absolute crystal growth rates in a granitic magma
Nature Geoscience, 2014Giant volcanic eruptions occur when large volumes of magma accumulate in crustal reservoirs and do not cool and crystallize to form a solid pluton of rock within the crust. Geochronological dating of a pluton from Elba, Italy, shows that the magma solidified in the crust within just 10–40 thousand years of being injected into the crust, implying that ...

Performance records on 41,184 Red Angus cattle were analyzed and estimates of parameters calculated for absolute growth rate, relative growth rate and restricted selection indices. Heritability estimates for birth weight, 205-d weight, 365-d weight and postweaning gain were .46 +/- .02, .39 +/- .02, .40 +/- .02 and .36 +/- .02, respectively ...

Dimensions of the growing shoot and the absolute growth rate of a poplar shoot
Tree Physiology, 1986Plants of Populus euramericana (Dode) Guinier Robusta were grown in sub-irrigated, gravel-filled containers under conditions of constant temperature and irradiance. Lengths of leaves and internodes and diameters of internodes were measured three times a week. Dates of internode maturation were estimated from the growth curves of the internodes.

Absolute rate theory for spherulite growth of polymeric substances
Journal of Polymer Science, 1960AbstractThe rate of spherulite growth has been measured for various polymers. Several authors have developed the theory for the rate with emphasis on its temperature dependence but without reference to its absolute value. In this paper, a theory of the absolute rate of growth is put forward on the basis of the perfect crystal growth mechanism of Volmer‐
