Cycles of dieback and recovery drove mangrove forest dynamics at the Albert and Leichhardt Rivers (Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia) over 36 years (1987–2023). Landward margins were the most affected by reduced tidal inundation when the alignment of low lunar declination suppressed tidal range and extreme El Niño phases lowered mean sea level.

Dynamics of spatial flexible multibody systems with clearance and lubricated spherical joints [PDF]
A computational methodology for analysis of spatial flexible multibody systems, considering the effects of the clearances and lubrication in the system spherical joints, is presented.

Adding local rotational degrees of freedom to ANC beams [PDF]
This work shows a simple finite element formulation that enables to impose concentrated moments and rotations to ANC beams which are finite elements that lack rotational degrees of freedom.

A comparative numerical study of meshing functionals for variational mesh adaptation [PDF]
We present a comparative numerical study for three functionals used for variational mesh adaptation. One of them is a generalisation of Winslow's variable diffusion functional while the others are based on equidistribution and alignment.

Abstract We introduce mixed super‐circles, a position‐curvature formulation of the original dynamic 2D super‐helix model. Compared to the latter, purely curvature‐based model – the so‐called chained formulation –, the mixed formulation that we propose here drastically reduces the algorithmic complexity of the solving scheme – from quadratic to quasi ...

Developmental Profiling of Structural and Functional Maturation in Mouse Corpus Callosum
Progressive myelin development in mouse corpus callosum is accompanied by gradual decrease in oligodendrocyte precursor cell density and increase in oligodendrocyte density. Pro‐Capase‐3 is transiently upregulated in oligodendrocyte during postnatal development.

A Novel Mixed‐Hybrid, Higher‐Order Accurate Formulation for Kirchhoff–Love Shells
ABSTRACT This paper presents a novel mixed‐hybrid finite element formulation for Kirchhoff–Love shells, designed to enable the use of standard C0$C^0$‐continuous higher‐order Lagrange elements. This is possible by introducing the components of the moment tensor as a primary unknown alongside the displacement vector, circumventing the need for C1$C^1 ...
