Absorbing boundary conditions for electromagnetic wave propagation [PDF]
In this paper, the theoretical perfectly absorbing boundary condition on the boundary of a half–space domain is developed for the Maxwell system by considering the system as a whole instead of considering each component of the electromagnetic fields individually. This boundary condition allows any wave motion generated within the domain to pass through

Element-by-element parallel spectral-element methods for 3-D teleseismic wave modeling [PDF]
The development of an efficient algorithm for teleseismic wave field modeling is valuable for calculating the gradients of the misfit function (termed misfit gradients) or Fréchet derivatives when the teleseismic waveform is used for adjoint ...

The Fokker–Planck Equation with Absorbing Boundary Conditions [PDF]
We study the initial-boundary value problem for the Fokker-Planck equation in an interval with absorbing boundary conditions. We develop a theory of well-posedness of classical solutions for the problem. We also prove that the resulting solutions decay exponentially for long times.

Semi-exact local absorbing boundary condition for seismic wave simulation [PDF]
An absorbing boundary condition is necessary in seismic wave simulation for eliminating the unwanted artificial reflections from model boundaries. Existing boundary condition methods often have a trade-off between numerical accuracy and computational ...

Absorbing Boundary Conditions for Linear Gravity Waves [PDF]
The authors construct, analyse and implement a family of absorbing boundary conditions for linear gravity waves in two dimensions. The mathematical properties of the water waves' model are nicely explained and compared with the properties of the acoustic wave equation. The theoretical analysis is exemplified with several numerical experimentation.

Optimized absorbing boundary conditions for the analysis of planar circuits using the finite difference time domain method [PDF]
It is shown that the description of absorbing boundary condition algorithms (ABCs) in terms of single incident plane waves does not provide sufficient information for choosing the best ABC for planar waveguide termination.

Faster 3D finite element time domain : Floquet absorbing boundary condition modelling using recursive convolution and vector fitting [PDF]
A recursive convolution (RC) based on the vector fitting (VF) method and triangular temporal basis functions is employed to compute the Floquet absorbing boundary condition (FABC) formulation in the vector 3D finite element time-domain (FETD) modelling ...
