Absorbing boundary conditions for the wave equation and parallel computing [PDF]
Absorbing boundary conditions have been developed for various types of problems to truncate infinite domains in order to perform computations. But absorbing boundary conditions have a second, recent and important application: parallel computing. We show that absorbing boundary conditions are essential for a good performance of the Schwarz waveform ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Implementation of the huygens absorbing boundary condition in corner regions [PDF]
In recent years, three new absorbing boundary conditions (ABCs) have appeared in the literature, namely, the multiple absorbing surfaces, the reradiating boundary condition, and the Huygens ABC (HABC). The last is a generalization of the first two.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

An improved viscous boundary for dynamic soil-struct ure interaction 1
In many engineering problems modelling of wave propagation in infinite or semi-infinite domains is of great importance. One of the main limitations of the usage of the finite element method in dynamic soil-structure interaction arises when it is used ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
