Implementation of Unsplit Perfectly Matched Layer Absorbing Boundary Condition in 3 Dimensional Finite Difference Time Domain Method

open access: yesArid Zone Journal of Engineering, Technology and Environment, 2017
The C++ programming language was used to implement three-dimensional (3-D) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique to simulate radiation of high frequency electromagnetic waves in free space.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Fractional Second-Grade Fluid Flow over a Semi-Infinite Plate by Constructing the Absorbing Boundary Condition

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The modified second-grade fluid flow across a plate of semi-infinite extent, which is initiated by the plate’s movement, is considered herein. The relaxation parameters and fractional parameters are introduced to express the generalized constitutive ...

Efficient Enhanced Hybrid Implicit-Explicit Procedure to Gyrotropic Plasma in Open Regions With Fine Geometry Details Along Single Direction

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
For the simulation of gyrotropic plasma structure with fine geometry details along a single direction in open regions, the hybrid implicit-explicit (HIE) algorithm with improved absorbing boundary condition is modified based on the finite-difference time-

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Well-Designed Termination Wall of Perfectly Matched Layers for ATS-FDTD Method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2019
This paper presents a well-designed termination wall for the perfectly matched layers (PML). This termination wall is derived from Mur’s absorbing boundary condition (ABC) with special difference schemes. Numerical experiments illustrate that PML and the

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics
