Accounting for TLD response to CBCT protocols in external beam radiotherapy dose monitoring

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose LiF thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) are commonly used in radiation therapy to verify the delivered dose. Examples include dose verification for complicated treatment setups or cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). TLDs may be present for both the pre‐treatment imaging kilovoltage (kV) beam and the megavoltage (MV ...

Phase 1, First‐In‐Human, Single‐/Multiple‐Ascending Dose Study of Iluzanebart in Healthy Volunteers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of iluzanebart, a fully human monoclonal antibody TREM2 (triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2) agonist, after single‐ (SAD) and multiple‐ascending‐dose (MAD) administration.

Upper bounds on broadband absorption [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We address the question of the optimal broadband absorption of waves in an open, dissipative system. We develop a general framework for absorption induced by multiple overlapping resonances, based on quasi-normal modes and radiative and non-radiative decay rates.

Dysphagia and Mortality Risk in Individuals With Primary Progressive Apraxia of Speech

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Individuals with primary progressive apraxia of speech (PPAOS) often develop parkinsonism and dysphagia. To evaluate the clinical correlates and impact of dysphagia in this population, we compared enrollment visit data between individuals with (n = 12) versus individuals without (n = 44) dysphagia symptoms.

Percent cholesterol absorption in normal women and men quantified with dual stable isotopic tracers and negative ion mass spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1999
Percent cholesterol absorption was measured in 94 normal subjects aged 17–80 years while consuming diets generally low in cholesterol (mean intake = 226 ± 126 mg/day).
