Local one-dimensional reggeon model of the interaction of pomerons and odderons
We propose the one-dimensional reggeon theory describing local pomerons and odderons. It generalizes the well-known one-dimensional theory of pomerons (the Gribov model) and includes only triple interaction vertices.

A New Thesis concerning Synchronised Parallel Computing - Simplified Parallel ASM Thesis
A behavioural theory consists of machine-independent postulates characterizing a particular class of algorithms or systems, an abstract machine model that provably satisfies these postulates, and a rigorous proof that any algorithm or system stipulated ...

ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

IKKT thermodynamics and early universe cosmology
Matrix theory is a proposed non-perturbative definition of superstring theory in which space is emergent. Recently, it was shown that space-time can emerge with a scale-invariant spectrum of cosmological perturbations which is sourced by thermal ...

Well-posedness and Stability for Interconnection Structures of Port-Hamiltonian Type
We consider networks of infinite-dimensional port-Hamiltonian systems $\mathfrak{S}_i$ on one-dimensional spatial domains. These subsystems of port-Hamiltonian type are interconnected via boundary control and observation and are allowed to be of distinct

The General Theory of Second Best Is More General Than You Think [PDF]
Lipsey and Lancaster's "general theory of second best" is widely thought to have significant implications for applied theorizing about the institutions and policies that most effectively implement abstract normative principles.

ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

Some more Problems about Orderings of Ultrafilters [PDF]
We discuss the connection between various orders on the class of all the ultrafilters and certain compactness properties of abstract logics and of topological spaces. We present a model theoretical characterization of Comfort order.

Model for Dissipative Highly Nonlinear Waves in Dry Granular Systems
A model is presented for the characterization of dissipative effects on highly nonlinear waves in one-dimensional dry granular media. The model includes three terms: Hertzian, viscoelastic, and a term proportional to the square of the relative velocity ...

Inpatient Food Insecurity and Pediatric Hematology Oncology Hospitalization Outcomes
ABSTRACT Children with cancer and blood disorders are at risk for food insecurity (FI). We aimed to describe the association of inpatient food insecurity (IFI) and hospitalization outcomes among patients admitted to the pediatric hematology oncology service. Of 325 caregivers screened for IFI, 60 (18.6%) screened positive.
