A Neurofuzzy Application for AC Motor Drives Monitoring System

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2004
Currently industrial applications require suitable monitoring systems able to identify any decrease in efficiency resulting in economic losses. This paper shows that the information coming from a general purpose monitoring system can be usefully exploited to realize a sensorless instrument for the monitoring of an ac motor drive, and can be fed to a ...

Reversible AC Drive Systems Based on Parallel AC-AC DC-Link Converters

2008 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2008
In this paper, two reversible single-phase to three-phase ac drive systems are proposed. They are composed of a single induction motor fed by two parallel single- phase to three-phase dc-link converters without isolation transformers. For sake of generalization a configuration composed of three parallel single-phase to three-phase dc-link converters is

Fault tolerant AC multi-drive system

2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013
The paper deals with an original control strategy for AC Multi-Drive (MD) systems able to mitigate failures on one or more drives, through a minimal system reconfiguration. In particular, fault tolerance capability is achieved by isolating the failed inverter legs and connecting together the neutral point of stator windings of all motors; moreover ...

Fault-tolerant reversible ac motor drive system

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2002
This paper investigates a fault tolerant three-phase AC/AC converter topology. With such a topology, when either one leg of the input rectifier, or one leg of the output inverter, is lost, the power flow between the grid and the load can still be controlled effectively. The topology proposed and its operating principles are presented.

High-performance AC servo-drive system

Conference Record of the IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2003
A method of AC servo-drive motor control is presented. To focus attention on the load control problem, a polar consideration instead of the usual Cartesian one is suggested. Thus, the unavoidable commutation and torque generation processes are introduced. In this sense, the commutation processes are introduced.

Investigation on large power AC drive system

8th International Conference on Power Electronics - ECCE Asia, 2011
The performance of the large power AC drive system for rolling mills should meet the need of production technology and adapt to the requirement of the electric network. In the paper, the cycloconverter system is introduced. With the development of large power electronics, application of the large power converter using the self-controllable devices such

Reduced Switch Count AC-AC Two-Phase Drive Systems

2005 IEEE 36th Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2005
This paper presents two reduced switch count ac-ac two-phase drive systems. The configurations were conceived to operate with two-phase machines. The drive systems provide both bidirectional power flow and power factor control. The overall control of the drive system is presented, including the pulse-width modulation techniques.
