Observer based power feedforward control for AC/AC converters
Conference Record of 1998 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Third IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.98CH36242), 2002In this paper a disturbance observer based power feedforward is proposed as a new alternative control solution of the input AC/DC stage of a quasi direct AC/AC converter. The observer identifies the DC link current drawn by the output inverter section. The observed load current is then used to constitute the DC link power based feedforward signal added

The advent of readily available high power static switching devices has resulted in an almost infinite number of techniques for the control, inversion, and conditioning of A C power. The six papers presented in this session represent a good cross section of the power electronic technologies utilized for the A C power conditioning in a wide range of ...

A Single-Stage Capacitive AC-Link AC–AC Power Converter
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2019A single-stage three-phase ac–ac converter benefiting from a high-frequency alternating link voltage is proposed in this paper. In this converter, a very small film capacitor can transfer the energy from the input to the output, owing to the high-frequency alternating voltage of the link.

Electric pulse field methods are wildly used in biotechnology and industrial applications. A pulse generator (PG) is the device that provides the desired electric pulse field. In this paper, a novel ac-powered PG (ACPG) that is directly powered by normal ac power (i.e., utility power) is proposed.

SNS AC Power Distribution and Reliability of AC Power Supply
Proceedings of the 2005 Particle Accelerator Conference, 2006When designing any power system under the new Construction Design and Maintenance (CDM) regulations (OSHA, NEC) and safety will be an important factor. It is worth acknowledging that safety and reliability can conflict. This can happen when safety considerations require the introduction of additional complexity, such as the provision of safety ...

In Chapter 2, we considered various methods for triggering SCRs. Of these, the most efficient method for power modulation with thyristors uses gate control. In AC circuits, the SCR can be turned on by the gate at any angle α with respect to the applied voltage. This angle α is the firing angle. Power control is obtained by varying the firing angle, and
