Soil community structure across native and exotic forests is shaped by edaphoclimatic conditions and eukaryotic biomarkers

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 11, Page 3128-3141, November 2025.
Our results point to the importance of taking management decisions for these forests considering regional conditions as well as forest type. The provided list of soil keystone taxa should be taken into account in future research and soil monitoring, which is essential for sustainable management of land.

Using Apparent Density of Paper from Hardwood Kraft Pulps to Predict Sheet Properties, based on Unsupervised Classification and Multivariable Regression Techniques

open access: yesBioResources, 2015
Paper properties determine the product application potential and depend on the raw material, pulping conditions, and pulp refining. The aim of this study was to construct mathematical models that predict quantitative relations between the paper density ...

Effects of Acacia dealbata Invasion and Removal on Soil and Vegetation in Communal Grasslands in Eastern Cape, South Africa

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 7, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Acacia dealbata has invaded South African grasslands, yet few studies have assessed its invasion and clearing effects on grasslands. We assessed the soil (moisture, repellency, penetration resistance, infiltration rate and hydraulic conductivity) and vegetation (diversity, composition and cover) impacts of A.

Moisture and Species Effect on Water Colour Generation in an Australian Temperate Forested Catchment

open access: yesEcohydrology, Volume 18, Issue 6, September 2025.
ABSTRACT South‐eastern Australian forested catchments supply most of Melbourne's drinking water, and discoloured water poses significant challenges for authorities because of the need for complex and costly treatment procedures. Identifying the sources and mechanisms of colour production is therefore critical.
