Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Dependency of Acacia melanoxylon R.Br.

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, India Section B: Biological Sciences, 2012
Arbuscular mycorrhizal dependency of Acacia melanoxylon R.Br. was determined under three experimental set up conditions viz, natural soils, coal mine disturbed soils and artificially inoculated conditions. Mycorrhizal dependency of the plant varied significantly with the type of soil and varied between 30 and 62 %.

Genetic control in the survival, growth and form of Acacia melanoxylon

New Forests, 2009
Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon R.Br.) is a high-quality appearance-grade timber species native to eastern Australia. Wide variation in its survival, growth and form, together with issues related to site selection and intensive silvicultural management, limit progress in its domestication and commercial development. To determine the effect of genetics on

Wood Anatomical Variation of Acacia Melanoxylon in Relation to Latitude

IAWA Journal, 1989
The wood anatomy of Acacia melanoxylon samples from various locations in eastern Australia was examined and a number of characteristics were found to be significantly related to latitude. Vessel member length, proportion of fibres and proportion of multiseriate rays were positively related to latitude.

Heart and splint of Acacia melanoxylon as raw material for particleboard

1998
The aim of the study is to determine the effect of sapwood and heartwood of Acacia melanoxylon on particleboard properties. Three layer particleboards, 16 mm in thickness, and 640 kg/m3 were produced. Boards with 4 sapwood/ heartwood mixtures in proportions of 100/0, 66/33, 33/66, and 0/100 were tested.
