본 연구의 목적은 자율성의 영역성을 탐색하는 것이다. 이 연구에 포함된 자율성은 학교현장에서 주목하는 학업과 진로결정 자율성 등 두 가지였다. 자율성의 영역성은 학업 자율성 및 진로결정 자율성 척도의 확인된 조절과 내적조절 간의 상관행렬을 비교하고, 네 요인사이의 평균차이 분석 및 모형의 요인구조 분석 등 세 가지를 종합적으로 검토하였다.
